Sunsets in Africa are always worth stopping for, but watching one from a canoe, surrounded by the quiet of the mangroves, is something else again.
At the water we step into a traditional canoe, carved from a baobab, and set off through the mangrove channels — into the trees, with the light going, waiting for the sun.
When the canoe trip is over we settle on the stilt platforms for a drink and the crab samosas the place is known for.
If you would rather make an evening of it, you can also eat à la carte at the restaurant afterwards.
The programme

Pick-up from your resort
We collect you from your resort at around 16:30 and drive to the water.
Into the mangrove channels
You board a traditional canoe carved from baobab wood and set off through the channels, in among the mangroves, as the light drops.
Sundowner on the stilts
Back on the platforms over the water, there is an aperitivo with the famous crab samosas — one of the local specialities — and the sun going down over the creek.
For anyone who wants to stay on, the restaurant serves à la carte afterwards.
