Your half-day marine adventure begins at 08:30 with a pick-up from your hotel. We drive to the Turtle Bay Marine Park gate, where you board a comfortable marine fibre boat with a solid roof — shade and somewhere to sit for the whole trip.

We cruise out through the waters of Watamu Marine Park and along the coast. From November to March there may also be a chance of seeing dolphins; sightings are seasonal and cannot be guaranteed. In the other months the trip concentrates on the marine park itself and its coral reef.

We then return into the park to snorkel. You have time in the clear water to swim over the coral formations and watch the tropical fish and the rest of the marine life going about their morning.

After the snorkelling we head back to the beach, arriving at about 12:00.

The programme

  1. 08:30

    Pick-up from your hotel

    We collect you from your hotel and drive to the Turtle Bay Marine Park gate.

  2. Out into the marine park

    You board the marine fibre boat — a strong roof over the seating, so there is shade for the whole trip — and we cruise through the park.

    From November to March there may be a chance of dolphins along the way. Sightings depend on the sea and the weather, and are never guaranteed.

  3. Snorkelling over the reef

    We anchor in the park and go in. Masks, snorkels and fins are on board, along with life jackets and life rings.

    The water is clear and shallow over the coral: shoals of sergeant-majors, parrotfish and angelfish, and whatever else is over the reef that morning.

  4. 12:00

    Back to the beach

    We return to the beach and you are back at your hotel from around midday.
